Growth in the face of Chaos

As we make our way through spring, now is the time to grow and create! To fully tap into our creative potential, we need to be in alignment or flow. Our bodies feel their best when they are in flow with the cycles of Mother Nature.
We can take our cues from the plants and animals creating new life all around us. Observe how birds are busy gathering materials to build their nests. Watch as the flowers paint the landscape with splashes of color. See how the wind carries away dead leaves and unearths emerald grass underneath.
Mother Nature does not shy away from destruction in her process of creation. Wildfires, torrential rains, and storms wreak havoc but in their wake leave behind a blank canvas. From beneath the charred earth, flowers poke through in reds, oranges and purples. New trees take root as their seeds are carried in the wind. Life finds a way even in the chaos and destruction.
Though we are living in chaotic and uncertain times, we have the opportunity to create. We can choose to remain rooted in our pain, trauma and grief and allow fear to dictate our potential. We can repeat unhealthy patterns, habits and cycles. We can choose the familiar comfort of dysfunction. Or we can sit in our discomfort and chart a new path forward. We can choose to use our struggles as fertilizer to grow.
Trees will intertwine their roots to provide stability and support and share resources. Through this vast network of roots, community is created. This community effort ensures that each tree can thrive and adapt.
We can take our cue from the trees and choose to create community. We can lift each other up in times of weakness. We can pool resources and share our gifts. We can provide a helping hand out of the darkness to bring light where there was none to be found. This does not make any one individual weaker. Coming together as a collective ensures deep roots and a strong foundation to weather any storm.
The beauty of being part of a collective lies in the fact that we all have our own strengths and gifts to contribute. Just as in a bee hive where every bee serves a purpose and needs one another to survive,
each of us has our own purpose and place in the world. Sometimes we face dark times either collectively or individually. People tend to isolate and struggle quietly instead of reaching out to their community. True strength lies in our ability to be vulnerable and allow others to see the parts of ourselves we keep under lock and key. When you feel like the world is caving in and you cannot see the light, reach out for help. The world needs you.
Light and love,
Jena
